\u300c\u5c45\u6240\u8207\u4ed6\u65b9\u300d\u8a66\u5716\u8655\u7406\u4e0b\u5217\u5e7e\u500b\u8cab\u7a7f\u5728\u7f8e\u5b78\u8207\u73fe\u5be6\u4e4b\u9593\u7684\u8ab2\u984c\u30021.\u4e9e\u6d32\u4e0d\u540c\u5340\u57df\u5728\u73fe\u4ee3\u5316\u7684\u904e\u7a0b\u4e2d\uff0c\u9762\u5c0d\u8457\u5404\u7a2e\u5340\u57df\u79fb\u52d5\u3001\u8207\u5167\u7206\u7684\u7a2e\u7a2e\u8655\u5883\uff0c\u7576\u4ee3\u85dd\u8853\u7684\u5be6\u8e10\u5982\u4f55\u56de\u61c9\u3001\u63a2\u554f\u3001\u8cea\u7591\u3001\u9032\u800c\u91cd\u65b0\u5354\u5546\u5176\u908a\u754c\uff1f2.\u85dd\u8853\u7684\u5be6\u8e10\u6709\u5426\u53ef\u80fd\u91cd\u65b0\u6d3b\u5316\u4e00\u500b\u7cfb\u7d71\uff0c\u4e26\u5c0d\u5b83\u6240\u9762\u5c0d\u7684\u653f\u6cbb\u73fe\u5be6\u7684\u7d50\u69cb\u9032\u884c\u985b\u8986\u8207\u5728\u60f3\u50cf\uff1f3.\u5f71\u50cf\u8207\u5730\u65b9\uff1a\u5982\u679c\u85dd\u8853\u751f\u7522\u7684\u4e0d\u662f\u300c\u73fe\u5be6\u300d\u8207\u300c\u771f\u7406\u300d\u7684\u8a71\uff0c\u85dd\u8853\u53ef\u4ee5\u5982\u4f55\u8655\u7406\u5f71\u50cf\u6216\u7e7c\u627f\u5f71\u50cf\u7684\u50b3\u7d71\uff1f4.\u9019\u6a23\u7684\u751f\u7522\u5982\u4f55\u56de\u61c9\u73fe\u5be6\uff0c\u7279\u5225\u662f\u5728\u90a3\u4e9b\u64c1\u6709\u8c50\u5bcc\u6c11\u9593\u50b3\u8aaa\u8207\u5730\u65b9\u4fe1\u4ef0\u7684\u5730\u65b9\uff1f5.\u5f71\u50cf\u8207\u6b0a\u5229\uff1aHito Steyerl\u66fe\u6307\u51fa\uff0c\u300c\u7d00\u9304\u6027\u300d\u5373\u662f\u653f\u5e9c\u8ddf\u771f\u7406\u751f\u7522\u532f\u805a\u9ede\u7684\u5f71\u50cf\u4f7f\u7528\u3002 \u5f71\u50cf\u7684\u751f\u7522\u5728\u7576\u4ee3\u5a92\u9ad4\u4f54\u6709\u4e3b\u5c0e\u5730\u4f4d\u3002\u85dd\u8853\u5bb6\u5982\u4f55\u4f7f\u7528\u5a92\u9ad4\u5f71\u50cf\uff0c\u4f86\u63ed\u793a\u6216\u8005\u6279\u5224\u6b0a\u529b\u64cd\u5f04\u7684\u5de5\u5177\u6216\u662f\u5229\u7528\u5a92\u9ad4\u4f5c\u70ba\u5ba3\u50b3\u7684\u5de5\u5177\u3002<\/p>\n

\u5f71\u50cf\u6a5f\u5177\uff0c\u5728\u5b83\u6f2b\u9577\u7684\u5de5\u5177\u53f2\u4e2d\uff0c\u66fe\u7d93\u88ab\u8ce6\u4e88\u6e2c\u91cf\u7684\u4efb\u52d9\u3002\u300c\u5c45\u6240\u8207\u4ed6\u65b9\uff1a\u5f71\u50cf\u6e2c\u91cf\u8a08\u5283\u300d\u9019\u6b21\u5f9e\u5f71\u50cf\u51fa\u767c\u7684\u4f5c\u54c1\u8a08\u5283\uff0c\u8a66\u5716\u8abf\u52d5\u300c\u6e2c\u91cf\u300d\u8a08\u5283\uff0c\u6210\u70ba\u53ec\u559a\u884c\u52d5\u7684\u6b65\u9a5f\u3002\u300c\u6e2c\u91cf\u300d\u901a\u5e38\u610f\u5473\uff0c\u900f\u904e\u4e00\u500b\u6a21\u7d44\u5316\u7684\u6a5f\u5236\uff0c\u628a\u4e8b\u7269\u7684\u5f62\u8c8c\u63cf\u7e6a\u51fa\u4f86\uff1b\u4e0d\u904e\uff0c\u9019\u6b21\u300c\u5c45\u6240\u8207\u4ed6\u65b9\uff1a\u5f71\u50cf\u6e2c\u91cf\u8a08\u5283\u300d\u900f\u904e\u5f71\u50cf\u6240\u9032\u884c\u7684\u6e2c\u7e6a\uff0c\u662f\u4ee5\u85dd\u8853\u5bb6\u81ea\u5df1\u7684\u8eab\u9ad4\u4f5c\u70ba\u57fa\u790e\u7684\u5750\u6a19\uff0c\u9019\u4f7f\u5f97\u5979\u8207\u6e2c\u91cf\u5c0d\u8c61\u4e4b\u9593\uff0c\u4e0d\u518d\u4ff1\u6709\u507d\u88dd\u5ba2\u89c0\u7684\u8ddd\u96e2\u8207\u59ff\u614b\uff0c\u53cd\u800c\u662f\u5c07\u6e2c\u91cf\u7684\u5c0d\u8c61\uff0c\u8f49\u5411\u5979\u8207\u5979\u6240\u8655\u7684\u6587\u5316\u60f3\u50cf\u5730\u666f\u3002\u5982\u6b64\uff0c\u9019\u500b\u8a08\u5283\u5c07\u540c\u6642\u8a66\u5716\u5ef6\u4f38\u64f4\u5927\u300c\u5f71\u50cf\u300d\u7684\u610f\u7fa9\uff0c\u7279\u5225\u662f\u90a3\u4e9b\u5728\u73fe\u4ee3\u5316\u904e\u7a0b\u4e2d\uff0c\u7192\u7192\u6b98\u7e5e\u4e8e\u610f\u8b58\u4e2d\uff0c\u5ffd\u660e\u5ffd\u6ec5\u7684\u610f\u8b58\u6b98\u5f71\u3002

Habitation and Elsewhere is a measurement project that treats images as the instrument and the psychological geography of Malaysia (the birthplace of the artist) as the orientation. On the imaginary path to modernization, the unquestioned spiritual dimension and geographical boundaries within Asia are reassessed in the form of images.<\/p>\n

Habitation and Elsewhere seeks to address the following issues that interweave aesthetics with the reality. Firstly, many Asian regions are confronted with various problems concerning migration and implosion on their path to modernization. How should contemporary art respond to, investigate, and challenge these problems and thereby negotiate for a new boundary of Asia? Secondly, is it possible for artistic practice to rejuvenate a system and further subvert and reimagine the political structure on which the system is based? Thirdly, in terms of image and locality, in what way can art deal with images or perpetuate the tradition of images provided that art produces neither \u201creality\u201d nor \u201ctruth\u201d? Fourthly, how can such kind of artistic production respond to the reality, particularly the reality in places having long-standing folklore and folk beliefs? Fifthly, in terms of image and rights, Hito Steyerl has pointed out that \u201cdocumentality is the pivotal point, where forms of documentary truth production turn into government\u2014or vice versa.\u201d In other words, the production of images dominates contemporary media. How can artists utilize media images to unveil or criticize the instruments of power manipulation and media propaganda?<\/p>\n

Image machines and tools were once assigned the task of measuring in the long history of implements. Treating images as the point of departure, Habitation and Elsewhere tries to transform the instrument of measuring into that of calling for action. The term \u201cmeasuring\u201d usually refers to constructing the profile of things with a modularized mechanism. However, the measuring with images as the instrument in Habitation and Elsewhere is carried out by treating the artist\u2019s own body as the reference coordinates, which removes the sham objective observation and posture between the artist and the objects being measured. This approach further turns the artist herself and the landscape of her cultural imagination into the objects to be measured. This project thus attempts to extend and enrich the connotation of \u201cimage,\u201d particularly that of those flickering after-images lingering in our consciousness in the course of modernization.
